The nominees for the 2021 NAACP Image Awards are officially in, with Kierra Sheard and PJ Morton receiving 2 nods each in the Gospel/Christian category. Marvin Sapp, Koryn Hawthorne, Kirk Franklin among other artists were also nominated for the upcoming 52nd Annual NAACP Image Awards®.
Morton’s critically acclaimed album, Gospel According to PJ, earned a norm in the category of Outstanding Gospel/Christian album. The Multi-Award-winning R&B singer also earned a nom in the category of Outstanding Gospel/Christian song for his No. 1 hit “All in His Plan“ featuring the platinum-selling sister duo, Mary Mary, and dynamic vocalist, Le’Andria Johnson.
Kierra Sheard as well earned two noms for her self-titled album, Kierra, and the chart-topping song “Something Has To Break” featuring Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Kirk Franklin is nominated for his chart-topping song “Strong God.”
